From Svalbard to Antarctica
We conduct research from Zeppelin in Svalbard to Trollhaugen in Antarctica, on climate change, the composition of the atmosphere, air quality, environmental contaminants and the green transition.
Most of around 175 employees work at the head office in Kjeller, a short train ride from Oslo. We also have offices in Tromsø and Trondheim.

An independent research foundation
We have no owners who take out dividends. All profits go back to the operation and development of socially beneficial research services. We attach great importance to open research, open publishing and open source code, because knowledge exists to be shared.
